Create your first repair order
A repair order is the live record of one visit. It holds the customer, the vehicle, the work, and every step from arrival to handover.
- From the dashboard, start a new repair order with the intake panel.
- Match an existing customer and vehicle, or create new ones. Registration and customer name are required.
- Add the services the customer has booked. You can adjust these later.
- Save. The repair order opens in the Booked in status.
A saved repair order holds the customer, the vehicle, and its live status together, using the same fields and chip you see on the dashboard:

Customers never need an account. They receive a text message with a secure link to approve quotes and follow progress.
Processing an arrival
When the vehicle arrives, open the repair order and press Arrive. Openhood walks you through confirming the booking, capturing any new concerns, and issuing the intake authorisation by text or QR code. You can also defer authorisation and resolve it later.
