The words Openhood uses, in plain terms.

  • Repair order: the live record of one workshop visit. It holds the customer, vehicle, work, and every step from arrival to handover.
  • Job card: a unit of work inside a repair order. A repair order can have several job cards, each with its own tasks.
  • Task: a single piece of work on a job card, with labour time and parts.
  • Inspection: a checklist run against a template, where technicians record findings, severity, and evidence.
  • Finding: something an inspection turns up. A finding can become a quote recommendation and later be marked resolved.
  • Quote: priced work sent to the customer for approval. A sent quote is locked to what the customer saw.
  • Bay: a physical work space. Your subscription is based on your active bays.
  • Invoice: your record of sale for the approved work. The full report is a separate document.
  • Intake authorisation: the customer's agreement at drop-off, captured by text or QR code.
